New Patient Safety Guidelines
MONTROSE, CO – Montrose Regional Health (MRH) is implementing additional patient safety guidelines due to the extended respiratory season, including checking individuals before entry. All individuals seeking to enter MRH will be checked at the front entrance area to ensure patient safety beginning Tuesday, March 17. All individuals will also be checked at MRH clinic sites prior to entry.
To reduce the risk of exposing others to COVID-19 or other respiratory illnesses, individuals presenting respiratory symptoms are asked not to present to the hospital’s Emergency Department unless you need immediate emergency medical care. Per the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment, individuals with symptoms of COVID-19 should call a medical care provider to determine if they meet testing criteria and to explore how to obtain care and testing. According to the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) symptoms can include cough, sore throat, aches, and fever.
Children under the age of 18 are not allowed in patient care areas.
Healthy hospital visitors must follow these guidelines below:
- Wear a mask upon entry. If you do not have a mask we will provide you with one.
- Clean your hands before and after visiting a patient
- Always cover your cough and use a tissue or your sleeve when you cough or sneeze
- Clean your hands after coughing or sneezing.
