MONTROSE, CO― As part of an investment of over $250,000 to offer its patients advanced medical imaging technology, Montrose Regional Health recently acquired the Symbia Evo Excel from Siemens Healthcare.

“We are thrilled to bring the Symbia Evo Excel to our community,” said Cardiologist Riley Foreman, DO, FACP, FACC at Montrose Regional Health. “The Symbia Evo Excel enables our facility to image a wider variety of patients than ever before with higher image quality. And thanks to the generous dimensions of the system’s opening, we can maximize patient comfort and image difficult-to-move patients without transferring them from the gurney.”

“Siemens Healthcare is proud to provide Montrose Regional Health with its state-of-the-art Symbia Evo Excel” said David Pacitti, President of Siemens Healthcare North America. “Siemens is committed to offering innovative systems that will better enable Montrose Regional Health to deliver the highest levels of efficient and effective care to patients in the region.”

Nuclear cameras such as the Symbia Evo Excel use special imaging techniques to detect radioactive energy emitted from a patient’s body and translate it into an image. The equipment does not emit radiation to the patient. Nuclear imaging is used in a number of circumstances including with cancer patients to analyze treatment effectiveness.

Physicians at Montrose Regional Health can now serve a broader range of diverse patient populations and have access to industry-leading image quality to help inform care decisions and improve patient outcomes. The Symbia Evo Excel utilizes a high-capacity patient bed, a 30% larger bore than previous systems and highly flexible detectors. These features are optimized to accommodate obese or critically ill patients and increase the variety of applications physicians can offer, providing comprehensive imaging configurations for general purpose, cardiology, oncology and neurology studies.
